MIGUEL goes to AUSFOLK!
Miguel is set to perform at the opening celebrations of the inaugural AUSfolk Convention, presented by Folk Alliance Australia in conjunction with the Queensland Folk Federation Inc. (producers of Woodford Folk Festival and The Dreaming - Australia's International Indigenous Festival).
Regulars festival guests at Woodford, Miguel are chuffed to have been invited to perform for a delegation of some of Australia's most influential artists, organisers and cultural practitioners.
Death defying feats, big band music, sharp costumes, comic mayhem, and the classic passionate fight for the woman ... all intertwined in a fusion of highly skilled acrobatics and dance to create an explosive piece of music hall madness!
Some of you might have caught a taste of this show at Woodford ... and we want you to come and see it again, all polished up like a shiny new button. Whether you've seen it before or not, you can't afford to miss this spectacular production!
This collaboration sees Miguel performing with a trio of swinging circus vaudevillians in a show that features the perfect marriage of vintage music and classic vaudeville, with a dip of the straw fedora to the swizzle stick 'em up, suit wearing, dry martini induced good times of the 30's, 40's and 50's.
So put aside your favourite cufflinks, primp your corsage, and let our all-swinging cast take you on a breathless music hall fantasy.

Sooo....It's been one long year since Miguel has played the Brisbane Jazz Club. They've been
touring nationally playing clubs, theatres and festivals, even doing a national tour with Vince
Jones and band! Join them for a night of old and new. The first set will feature Miguel with
special guest Claire Walters playing fresh arrangements of songs made famous by Sinatra, Ella
etc. The second set will feature original music that has thrilled audiences around Australia and
given Miguel their signature sound!

But pick up a copy of the July/August 2010 issue (out now) of the new-look Vogue Living Australia magazine and you'll find it has a special treat stuck to the front cover: a DVD of Vogue Living Australia’s coverage of the 2010 Milan Design Week. The 2010 Milan Design Week DVD features four tracks from Miguel’s debut CD, The Opener. And two of those tracks are original tunes penned by our very own vocalist, trumpeter and front man Michael Rogers. Miguel fans can look forward to hearing more of Roger’s original tracks this Saturday night at the Brisbane Jazz Club, and at all future live performances. A selection of the new tracks will be recorded for Miguel's forthcoming EP, We Play Festivals, scheduled for release during anational tour in early 2011. Hi all, a little quiet for Miguel at the moment as we prepare for our upcoming EP recording "We Play Festivals". The charts are sounding good and the writing and rehearsal is full steam ahead...and in the meantime I'm learning to swing dance. A little over due but better late than never.. x M
